ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello! Welcome to my paintings of water, light, and odd delights.

As a Bay Area native and lover of the natural world, I am endlessly inspired by my land and sea adventures along California’s stunning coastline and beyond. Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “the essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.” How lucky are we to live in this beautiful world!?

As a self-taught artist, I started out as a kid who loved to draw. I started painting regularly in 2018 and endeavor to hone my craft through research, trial and error, and more importantly, by just having fun with my creative abilities and mediums. Areas of supporting study include color theory, water physics, and oceanography. Some of my favorite subjects are golden hour light, fanciful fruits and vegetables, odd sea creatures, and any angle of my awesome muse — the great Pacific Ocean.

Painters and artists whom I admire and have influenced me are David Ligare, Dawnne McGeachy, Willard Dixon, Woody Gwyn, and countless others.
